TRUE LOVE IS NOT A FEELING...
"Love is not a feeling but a determined act of will, which always results in determined acts of self giving. Love is the willing, joyful desire to put the welfare of others above our own" - John MacArthur. Some see LOVE as a willful act of generosity, a show of appreciation or rather, a show of mercy. But I think it is far more than all this. It is far greater than just a feeling. It requires much attention and the whole of your beings - your spirit, soul and body.
Genuine love does not stop at the sweetness of the appearance but has to do more with the tenderness of a heart determined to serve unconditionally.
True love is far greater than giving or any acts of generosity. If it must be defined in terms of giving, then it must be sacrificial in all dimensions. It is longsuffering, kind, sincere, humble, plain and objective rather than being judgemental. It is not easily provoked, it hates to do evil but consent to that which is good.
True love does not rejoice in iniquity, but in the truth; it bears and endures all things in the interest of the relationship. It believes and trusts in mutual abilities of each other; it can never fail to achieve the desired end. It is as strong as a mountain that can never be moved, as potent as a fire that consumes. The entire ocean can not quench the fire of love.
True love is not just a feeling; rather, it is the determined acts inherent in the feeling.
